The OakWood team is dedicated to supporting programs and organizations that provide hope and resources to our community and beyond. Many of the causes we participate in have a special connection to us.
The David Millis Memorial Golf Tournament was established by Julie, our own team member, and her family after they lost her father to pancreatic cancer. Founded in 2007, they have raised over $130,000 to benefit families battling cancer. Although we haven't been tournament champions yet, we enjoy supporting the cause. If you would like event information, contact Julie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Green Angels, a 501c3, charity was founded by a truly inspiring couple we have known for years. The idea started when they gave a few toys and games their kids had outgrown directly to a family in need. After sharing the idea with friends and family, their house was soon filled with like items to be passed on. In December 2008, they held their first “Free-Cycle” for local families in need of gifts for their children. This grass-roots organization enriches the lives of local families by supplying them with gently used toys, clothes and household items at no cost. We are honored to join with our clients to collect necessities to support their efforts.
We have found additional inspiration in volunteering for the Ronald McDonald House, supporting Foodlink and Heifer International, as well as participating in Commonwealth Financial Network's community restoration projects.
If you have a charitable activity you would like us to consider supporting, please contact Emily at email@example.com.
